Lenovo launched the P780, successor of the P770 back in June. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week, here we have the benchmarks of the device. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, better than its predecessor which had a 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 CPU with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) touch screen IPS display and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) with Lenovo’s custom UI on top. Let’s find out how this compete with other devices in range of synthetic benchmark tests when compared to other smartphones.

In the AnTuTu Benchmark 3.3, the Lenovo P780 managed to score 12779 points.
Vellamo 2.0 HTML5
The Lenovo P780 scores 1454 points in the Vellamo 2 HTML5 browser benchmark.
Vellamo 2.0 Metal
The P780 scores 454 points in the Vellamo 2 CPU Subsystem performance test.
Linpack Single Thread
The Lenovo P780 tops the Linpack single thread benchmark.
Linpack Multi-Thread
The Lenovo P780 tops the Linpack Multi-Thread benchmark too.
NenaMark 2
It managed to clock 44.9 fps in the NenaMark 2 GPU benchmark.
GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex (On screen)
In the GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex (On screen), the P780 clocks 4.5 fps.
GFXBench 2.5 Egypt HD (On screen)
It clocks 14 fps in the GFXBench 2.5 Egypt HD (On screen) benchmark, similar to most of the smartphones with the owerVR SGX 544MP GPU.
Basemark X HD (Onscreen)
It managed to clock around 4.3 fps in the Basemark X OnScreen benchmark.
Basemark X HD (Offscreen)
The Lenovo P780 clocks around 2.29 fps in the Basemark X OffScreen benchmark.
