Flipkart brings ‘In-a-Day Guarantee’ Delivery, proves that it is India’s Amazon

Flipkart, one of the leading eCommerce ventures in India, has just announced the roll out of its latest feature – In-a-Day Guarantee. Flipkart was portrayed as Amazon for India when it initially launched as it followed the footprints of the successful American giant. The trend still seems to continue with Amazon having just launched their 1-Day-Delivery feature and Flipkart doing the same.

Amazon is yet to reach the Indian crowd sentimentally while Flipkart has a huge upper hand in the Indian eCommerce market as it is people’s favorite choice for an online seller(it sure is mine). One of the features that people in India just adore about online shopping is COD which was introduced to the masses by Flipkart. Unlike Flipkart’s usual free shipping(for orders above certain price), Flipkart’s latest In-a-Day Guarantee is not a free service and costs you an additional shipping charge of Rs. 90 per item.

The new feature is currently available across leading cities in India which include – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Noida, Pune and Hyderabad. The service will gradually roll out to other cities in the coming weeks.

At the launch of this feature, the company’s Senior VP of Marketing, Ravi Vora had a few words

We have had a lot of customers requesting urgent deliveries, for reasons ranging from occasion-led gifts to pre-travel shopping. But given the large volumes that we handle it wasn’t feasible to address them on a case-to-case basis. We have now built the capability into our supply-chain and can now offer it as a guaranteed feature. This value-added service is available to consumers who need it – making online shopping a viable option even for last-minute purchases. We hope this will further accelerate the adoption of e-commerce in the country.
