During IFA 2013 in Berlin, Vestel had a large booth dedicated to showing off the latest from the manufacturer – the booth included everything from 4K Ultra High Def televisions and augmented reality TVs to Android powered smartphones and tablets.
The Vestel ML43 comes with a 4.3 inch qHD display, sporting 960 x 540 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and comes with 1GB RAM alongside 8GB internal storage and a microSD card slot. Vestel ML43 supports the 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) and 3G (WCDMA 850 / 2100 MHz) frequencies and is the entry level smartphone following the Turkish company’s move into the smartphone market.
Running on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system the Vestel ML43 comes a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and 2MP front facing camera. The rear camera captures video in Full HD 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second whilst the front facing video call camera offers VGA video recording.
Under the hood the Vestel ML43 comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (no support for Wireless ‘ac’) alongside integrated GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. There’s no NFC chip but Bluetooth 4.0, the low energy protocol, offers support for wearables smart devices such as the Sony SmartWatch 2.
The Vestel ML43 is likely to land in the Far East later this quarter and with limited specs, it will be targeted towards the low-end market.
